DARE's 6th Consortium Meeting:
June 18-21, 2018University of Haifa
18, 20-21 of June 2018Gordon College
19 of June 2018It was very exciting to join together in Haifa for the 6th CM of the DARE project as it neared its completion. The meeting started out at the University of Haifa with a monitoring session in which representatives from each partner from Georgia and Israel were able to convey how their IHE was changed by DARE-- "the DARE difference"! After this rewarding experience we were treated with the opportunity to engage with student beneficiaries of the program, as they shared what they had gained from DARE and how they plan to share the message. What could be better? In the spirit of "nothing about us without us" this certainly continued to lift our spirits even higher. The next day we were hosted by Gordon college for a dissemination and exploitation meeting where we assessed the outputs being produced, revisited what should be added to the handbook and made plans for the final months of the project. After the productive meetings, Rita took the group on a riveting tour of her home city of Nazareth.
On Wednesday we regrouped at the University of Haifa where we were joined by the Israeli Deans' Forum. The morning was filled with a wonderful keynote presentation by our British partner Mee Foong Lee of the European Access Network, in which she discussed how the DARE project relates to the goals the EU has established for expanding access to HE., a panel discussion, and workshops. In the afternoon the DARE team moved on to discuss progress in policy changes on the institutional and national levels that had been engined by the project as well as reviewed what still needed to be done. At the concluding sessions on Thursday, the coordinator of DARE Prof. Hanan Alexander, led a number of practical discussion regarding the final months of the project and also asked us to offer personal reflection on involvement in DARE.
